Throughout the week of August 19, Stevenson Student Life and Leadership hosted a plethora of events and activities to welcome students to their new home. From social gatherings to informational meetings, Welcome Week allowed students to make connections and build relationships within the Stevenson community. This fall, the Office of Admissions expected an estimate of 700 enrolled first-year students. However, a total of 778 students were accepted into the university, making Welcome Week a highly anticipated event.
First-years Sydney Luckey, Symone Morris, Sarai Cortez and Jaylyn Hollinshed socialized with other new students at SU Life and Leadership’s ‘PJ Party,’ participating in activities such as painting and board games.
“We enjoyed talking to each other and getting to know each other because we just met, so it was fun,” Luckey said.
