The Stevenson University men’s lacrosse team extended its MAC Commonwealth unbeaten streak in emphatic fashion, notching back-to-back blowout wins over conference rivals Hood College and Alvernia University.

With these victories, the Mustangs improve to 10-3 overall and 3-0 in conference play, showcasing their firepower on both ends of the field.

Stevenson’s Darrell Curtis (No. 11) stands ready for play. Curtis achieved 100 career points in the 17-6 win against Hood

Under the lights of Mustang Stadium last Wednesday, Stevenson powered past Hood College, 17-6, in a statement win. Taz Delaney opened the scoring just two minutes in, setting the tone for a dominant night.

Although the Blazers responded quickly, the Mustangs launched into a scoring surge, highlighted by Darrell Curtis and Gavin Gossen—who each reached major milestones.

Curtis tallied his 100th career point with his second goal of the night, while Gossen followed suit with his 100th point early in the third quarter.

Stevenson led 6-1 after the first quarter and 7-2 at halftime, never letting Hood close the gap.

Searing led all scorers with four goals, while Curtis posted six points (three goals, three assists), Gossen added five points and seven ground balls, and Grant Zick tallied two goals and two assists. Tyler Merchant made six saves to help secure the win.

The Mustangs didn’t skip a beat on Saturday night, dismantling Alvernia 25-3 on the road in one of their most complete performances of the season. Stevenson stormed out to a 6-0 start, with Max Racich scoring twice in the opening minutes.

Andrew Searing reached the 100-career-point mark with an unassisted goal during the run, and by the end of the first quarter, Stevenson held a 9-1 lead.

The onslaught continued through every quarter, with the Mustangs adding seven goals in the second to go up 16-2 by halftime. Racich led the team with five goals and an assist, while Zick and Gossen each chipped in two goals and three assists.

Curtis, Delaney, and Vince also recorded four-point outings. First-year Ryan Grace netted his first collegiate goal in the fourth quarter, and Andrew Schuerger notched his first career assist.

The Mustang defense was equally dominant, holding Alvernia to just three goals while four different goalkeepers—Merchant, Kieran Banks, Kaden Snead, and Nicholas Parolin—combined for nine saves.

With the offense firing on all cylinders and key players reaching major career milestones, Stevenson now looks ahead to a crucial MAC Commonwealth showdown. The Mustangs will host No. 15 York (Pa.) on Wednesday evening under the lights at Mustang Stadium. Face-off is set for 7 p.m.
