SU NaturALLS is back and open to all

Stevenson’s club celebrating natural hair will host an event this year with similar clubs from other Maryland Universities, Towson and Morgan State
SU NaturALLS is back and open to all

SU NaturALLS meets every Wednesday at 6 p.m. and the club that celebrates natural hair is looking for more members to join as it plans a year of activities.

They plan to host a hair show with Towson University Natural Club and Morgan State University Natural club. This club is not exclusive to anyone, hence the “ALL” in the name. Men, women, and anyone else who wants to learn about natural hair are all welcome to join.

SU NaturALLS is a natural hair club on campus that wants to restore pride in natural hair.

“They are taking an educational approach on how to maintain natural hair, and learn about the meaning and the cultural approach,” Maya Townsend, a member and former social media chair, said.

Townsend said the club is a safe place for anyone looking to establish confidence in their hair.

Current NaturAlls President Shianne Ferguson founded the club in Spring 2023. There was already an existing natural hair organization on campus called Curls, Kinks and Coils. However, the members have already graduated. Ferguson wanted to bring back that club because she felt a need in the community.

They are currently looking for a social media chair and an event planner. Applications can be submitted on the link in their Instagram bio, @sunaturalls

If you’re looking to join, email [email protected] and follow the club’s Instagram to see where events will be hosted. For any questions regarding natural hair or how to manage hair, reach out to the same Instagram, @sunaturalls, by direct message.
