Stevenson University’s Mustang Activities and Programming (MAP) is excited to bring back some popular events and to introduce new ones for the spring semester of 2016.
Emily Ostrander, the vice president of social media and marketing for MAP, explained that there will be many events to look forward to this semester ranging from small open mic nights, to dances in the apartment quads.
Two more events are coming soon for February. On Feb. 20, MAP will host their Saturday Night Coffee House, which will feature pop singer Shanna Henderson, and a nacho bar. On Feb. 25, a film festival of student-made films will be held at the Owings Mills North Soundstage from 7 to 9 p.m. Students can vote for their favorite films while enjoying some light refreshments.
March will kick off with another Saturday Night Coffee House on the 5th, which will include spoken word artist, G. Kawasaki, and a chance for students to take their turn on the stage. On March 8, the popular Pinterest Party will be making a reappearance but with more supplies and the opportunity for students to paint their own pottery.
On March 23, comedian Josh Johnson will visit the university and see if students know how to laugh. On March 30, MAP will hold an Acapella Fest which will feature singers from the band Ball in the House and from Stevenson’s very own glee club, All Natural.
MAP will hold a Paint U Dance on April 2 in the apartment quad from 9 to midnight, where students will get to dance while being splashed with neon paint. On April 9, the First Annual Food Truck Rally will be going on in the School of Business and Leadership (SOBL) parking lot, featuring live music from Brent and Co.
Ending the month of April will be MAP’s Broadway trip to New York City where they will be seeing Finding Neverland.
Ostrander said that those who want information about upcoming events can visit the Facebook page Mustang Activities and Programming or use the social media handle “mapatsu” on Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat.
