The Office of International and Off-Campus Study encourages students to engage in global experiences that will enable them to develop a respect for differences among cultures.
Students are provided with resources and information in order to choose the best international experience that fits their area of study and interest. Passport information, scholarships, steps to off-campus study, types of off-campus study and all upcoming events from the Office of International and Off-Campus Study are provided online for students interested in studying abroad.
The Travel and Culture Photo and Video Contest is the second annual event from the Office of International and Off-Campus Study, according to Dr. Rebecca Pisano, associate dean of International and Off-Campus Study. The contest is open to all Stevenson University students.
The contest began on Feb. 1 and continues until April 1. Students interested in submitting a photo must focus on portraying an “exceptional experience,” a hands-on activity where classmates are working together or a photo in a much landscaped “unique environment.” Students interested in submitting a video must create a 90 seconds or less video from an off-campus or international Stevenson travel experience.
All photo submissions must be posted to Instagram using the hashtag #travelandculturesu and emailed to [email protected]. Video submissions must be posted to YouTube or Vimeo, with accompanying links submitted to [email protected].
Before submitting, students should carefully read the rules of the contest, pay close attention to the quality of the photo or video submission, and choose a quiet or well-lighted area when recording a video or taking a photo.
Students must ensure that photos and videos are original work. Once students submit their work, they grant Stevenson University the right to utilize the submissions for publicity purposes. There will be three winners for the contest, and each will receive a $50 gift card.
