Phi Mu Delta, one of the two new fraternities recently chartered on Stevenson’s campus, officially began its chapter and colonization process.
The official list of Phi Mu Delta’s founding fathers are as follows: Aaron Hergert, Aaron Hernandez, Anthony Raspa, Avery Engel, Camden Adkins, Cole Simmons, Cori Adams, David Downs, David Fleming, Eddie Rivera, Eric Fong Sam, Evan Berman, Evan Welsh, Gabe Madro, Gary Matyok, Ivan Nikitin, Jean Lasso-Sanchez, Joey Byrd, Jonathan Lugo, Malik Kineard, Mario McIntyre, Quenlan Dunn, Ryan Troxel, Tim Craig and Usama Ali. Each of these brothers participated in an extensive recruitment and interview process.
The two interim presidents, seniors Jonathan Lugo and Anthony Raspa, have advocated for Stevenson to include fraternities on campus since their freshman year. Raspa said he is excited and proud to be part of something he has dreamed about for four years.
On Oct. 28, Phi Mu Delta will hold internal elections for various executive board and council positions; the founding fathers have the opportunity to run for any position equally.
The fraternity will then begin its year-round recruiting process, with deadlines for each wave of initiated members.
According to Raspa, in order to gain more publicity on campus, Phi Mu Delta will be selling concessions for various sporting events throughout the semester, as well as holding tailgates prior to football games and larger events in the freshman and apartment quads to “really get their name out there.”
Those interested in joining Phi Mu Delta can contact Lugo or Raspa through campus email.
