The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) has been in existence since 1954. Touching many lives and hearts, FCA wants to see the world impacted for Jesus Christ through the influences of coaches and athletes. FCA’s mission is to present coaches and athletes, and all whom they influence, the challenge and adventure of receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, serving Him in their relationships and in the fellowship of the church. FCA serves local communities by equipping, empowering and encouraging people to make a difference for Christ.
FCA came to Stevenson in the fall semester, brought by a small number of students who wanted to carry the FCA vision and mission to the university.
Payton Girod, president of FCA, said, “FCA has changed my life. I have been involved with FCA since high school, and it has always been an important part of my life. Faith is the most important thing in my life, and I just want to help spread the joy of FCA to the Stevenson community.” Those who want to join the organization don’t have to be athletes; it’s an open group for people to come together where there is no judgement.
To be a member of FCA, those interested should attend meetings in Garrison Hall on Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m. The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is a growing group on the Stevenson University campus and is looking for members. For more information on FCA , the website is www.fca.org.
