Men’s soccer went 1-1 on the week, beating Hood College 1-0 and losing to Mary Washington University 0-1. Fourth year Bryant Seivers scored the lone goal of the week on a penalty kick early in the first half. In the loss against Hood, second-year goalkeeper Nolen Olsen-Warwick was a brick wall for the Mustangs, contributing 13 saves on UMW’s 14 shots on goal. The Mustangs had four total shots in the loss, coming from third-year Patrick Caulden, second-year Kameron Ross, first-year Owen Haviland, and graduate student Jack Accorsi.
Field hockey faced their first two losses of the season against their toughest opponents, #2 Salisbury University, and #4 Johns Hopkins University. Graduate student Emma Gladstein scored both Mustang goals against Salisbury and the lone goal against Johns Hopkins. Second-year Lauren Schulz assisted on one of Gladstein’s goals against Salisbury. Second-year goalkeeper Jordan Vradenburgh added to her save count with six against Salisbury and nine against Johns Hopkins.
Women’s soccer went 0-1-1 on the week, with a 0-0 tie against Hood College and a 1-2 loss against Salisbury University. The Mustangs shot seven times against Hood and graduate student Kelly Schultz led the count with two. Schultz also contributed the lone goal against Salisbury off of a corner kick opportunity. Second-year Alison Halstead added 11 saves during the week, including four against Hood to keep the Blazers scoreless.
Women’s volleyball went 2-0 in their Dig Pink tri-match before losing 0-3 to Eastern later in the week. First-year Rachel Lenz led the team in kills in both tri-match games, with 21 and 10 respectively. Third-year Kylie DesLauriers led the team in digs with 31 in the first game and 11 in the second. First-year Zakara Masibo, Lenz and DesLauriers each contributed four kills in the loss against Eastern, the defending MAC champions. Third-year Nicolete Fuglestad also added 10 digs on the night.
