The Timeless Tau Theta Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and SU NaturALLS Club welcomed 25 students into Rockland A for Pretty Girl Bootcamp on Feb. 20, a hands-on self-care workshop designed to help attendees glow from the inside out. Members of the supervising graduate chapter, Upsilon Epsilon Omega Graduate Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., were also in attendance to support the event.
As part of the AKA Sorority’s Skee Week event series, “That’s SO Tau Theta,” they encouraged participants to unwind, learn new beauty and wellness tips and engage in meaningful conversations about self-love.
From examining unique and beautiful face shapes and skin types to learning about hair porosity, curl patterns, and tips for starting a natural hair journey, attendees explored countless ways to embrace their individuality.
Skincare routines, hair care techniques and holistic wellness tips were at the heart of the workshop, offering practical advice for maintaining self-care beyond the event.
More than just a beauty session, the event fostered an open dialogue on what self-care truly means and how it extends beyond physical appearance. The ladies of Tau Theta Chapter and SU NaturALLS shared their best advice on achieving total self-care—balancing mind, body, and spirit.
Attendees walked away not only refreshed but inspired to incorporate these practices into their daily lives. In a world that often demands constant hustle, Pretty Girl Bootcamp reminded everyone that self-care isn’t just a luxury—it’s a necessity.
