The benefits of being a Mustang don’t terminate upon graduation. At Stevenson, they continue for alumni throughout their life.
Graduates of Stevenson University are automatically enrolled into the Alumni Association with a lifetime membership, allowing them to receive a number of benefits without any financial obligation.
Allison Humphries Cuneo, director of annual giving and alumni relations, noted that creating opportunities for alumni to sustain their connection to Stevenson beyond graduation is critical to the success of the institution.
“Alumni support in the forms of philanthropy, volunteerism, and professional networking provide current and future Mustangs with the opportunity to fully embrace their Stevenson experience,” said Cuneo. “These benefits are a way of acknowledging the fundamental role that our graduates play in supporting our university mission and propelling the institution forward.”
According to the Stevenson University website, the Alumni Association allows a lifetime membership to any graduate of the university’s undergraduate or graduate degree programs, or any former student who has completed a minimum of 15 credits in either of the programs and left the university in good standing.
With their lifetime membership, alumni receive an Alumni Identification Card that provides free access to several university facilities, including the libraries and fully-equipped fitness centers on each campus, as well as the racquetball court in the Caves Sports and Wellness Center on the Owings Mills campus.
Additionally, they have access to the Office of Career Services for free resources and opportunities in professional development, career networking, and mentoring. According to Cuneo, the Office of Career Services recently launched an Alumni Mentor Program that will also allow graduates to connect with current students and offer professional support and guidance.
Stevenson alumni can visit campus any time for various discounts and deals. The Special Frequent Buyer Card offers a free meal with purchase of six meals recurrently at the Rockland Marketplace. Every month, the University Store offers a 20-percent-off special with the use of an Alumni ID card.
Furthermore, alumni can stay up-to-date with their former classmates, current happenings on campus, and upcoming events and involvement opportunities with alumni e-newsletters and a free subscription to Ventures, Stevenson’s quarterly publication.
In order to remain involved in the Stevenson community, graduates also get exclusive invitations to alumni events such as the annual Homecoming and Family Weekend, alumni gatherings, on-campus speakers and guest lectures, and more.
The alumni program offers a wide range of opportunities for graduates to stay active and involved with their alma mater, supporting Stevenson’s mission while growing professionally through a strong network of community members.
Cuneo encourages alumni to actively engage in the life of Stevenson by attending university-sponsored events, getting involved in academic programs on campus, encouraging other alumni to give back, becoming ambassadors for the University, remaining involved in the alumni program, and even taking on leadership roles at Stevenson.
