Would you take some wisdom from the seniors of Stevenson? You might consider it a questionable thing to do but receiving insight from senior Mustangs who have seen and done it all over the last four years might be valuable advice for the young ponies following in their hoofsteps.  

According to Jemari Hardy, a business communication major graduating in Spring 2022, college is everything you make it. “Always get involved (in activities) as much as you can,” she said, “without interfering with classes. It helps you make friends, network, and get acclimated to the college life faster.” 

Many of the seniors felt that Stevenson, a school rich in resources, is a great space to grow, not only as a student but also as a person. Maranda Stech, a Biology and Environmental Science major graduating this winter said, “The small class sizes allows you to build better connections with your professors.”  

There is so much wisdom accumulated over the four years of school. Hardy says, “get involved as much as you can without interfering with classes. It helps you make friends, network, and get acclimated to the college life faster.”  

Starting off strong, by meeting new people through clubs and organizations, will benefit your social life the most, but may also have long-term business benefits. Although some people are more shy than others and it takes them a long time to get into the spirit of socializing, it is never too late to place yourself in the Stevenson community. Hardy said she didn’t start getting involved in extracurriculars until her junior year. 

This article is meant to guide fellow Mustangs and to help make the best college experience possible. “Enjoy every second, it’ll be over before you know it,” Stech said.  

Stevenson provides students with so many events, clubs, and experiences, but it is what you decide to do with it that will determine your college journey.
