The Amazing Race is a surprising gem for those who love adventure. The CBS show allows viewers to explore the world and root for their favorite teams all from the comfort of their living rooms.

This reality TV show was first aired on September 5, 2001, and now is in its 28th season. The show captures the attention of viewers who enjoy a cultural spin on the classic game show.

Hosted by Phil Keoghan, The Amazing Race starts off with 11 teams of two people that include family members, spouses, friends and coworkers. Some seasons also include celebrity teams, which makes the show more interesting and attracts more viewers.

Starting from a particular place in the United States, each team travels to different locations around the world and must accomplish a task in order to travel to the next location. The teams are presented with physical, mental and emotional challenges, when stakes get high and contestants begin to get tired and stressed out.

The first team to find Keoghan at the end of each task receives a separate prize and automatically advances to the next round, while the last team to reach the host is eliminated if it is an elimination round. The first team to reach the final destination at the end of the season wins the game and the grand prize of $1 million.

Although this show is different from most reality TV shows, it still has mixed reviews. Viewers love the show when it is exciting as they are able to explore different countries, but once the show started shifting into a reality show with drama and relationship conflicts, fans became disappointed.

Many viewers enjoyed the beginning of the series more than they enjoy it now, because it has shifted from family-friendly to another typical reality show. Some fans of the show, however, still find enjoyment in the original purpose of the race.

With 28 seasons, The Amazing Race has a lot of expectations. As long as the show sticks to its original concept and focuses on the race and its world of culture, the family-friendly show will continue to be a hit for years to come.
