Stevenson University’s fifth annual Spring Career Fair will be held on April 18, 2017, in the Rockland banquet room from 3-6 p.m. This event will give all members of the Stevenson community, including alumni, the opportunity to learn about internships and career options within their major and beyond.

The Office of Career Services will host the Spring Ahead Career Fair with representatives from 44 organizations. These companies are currently hiring for internships, full-time, part-time and seasonal positions. Some of the organizations include Chesapeake Human Resources Center, Catonsville Army Recruiting Center, Dunbar, General Dynamics Information Technology, Northwestern Mutual, Toyota, and many more.

“I believe all students should attend the event,” said Anne Scholl-Fiedler, vice president, and leader of the event, at the Office of Career Services. “For sophomores and freshmen looking for last-minute internships, this is the perfect occasion to gain perspective from employers about the qualifications they are looking for, to learn more about the companies they may be interested in, and to see what kind of other opportunities will be available as they progress through their program and come closer to graduating.”

Upperclassmen, graduate students and alumni can use this fair as an opportunity to find positions in their field of study that match their interests. Sophomore John Kimenhour, a business communication major, intends to use this opportunity to find an internship that will relate to his specific interest in communication.

“I’m looking forward to it, and I’m glad to know some of the recruiters are Stevenson alumni who are there to give me helpful information about my future, especially getting a job after I graduate,” said Sam Smith, a sophomore visual communication design student. Smith is now working towards an internship through connections she made at a previous career fair.

Students can register for this event through the Handshake application on the Stevenson SUNOW portal. All attendees are encouraged to dress professionally and bring their reviewed and updated resumes.
