Stevenson women’s volleyball team recorded its 11th win of the season, defeating Catholic University 3-0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-19) Wednesday night in Washington, D.C.

The Mustangs (11-1 overall, 2-0 in the Mid-Atlantic Conference) face Dickinson and Muhlenberg on Saturday in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

“So far, the season has been going very well. We are a young group since we have quite a few freshmen on the court, but everyone is getting along, and it should make for a good rest of the season,” said fourth-year outside hitter Shannon Baily, whose 12 kills against Catholic led the Mustangs.

The Stevenson defense held the Cardinals to .090 hitting, while setters Makala Thompson and Samantha Simmers combined for 23 assists. Libero/defensive specialist Kayla Vaeth had four of Stevenson’s five service aces.

After Saturday’s tri-meet at Muhlenberg, the Mustangs travel to Albright for a Tuesday evening match. Stevenson returns home Sept. 29 for a match against Elizabethtown and will have a string of five home matches between Oct. 7-15.
