Stevenson has hired three new vice presidents to join the university in 2018 for the Offices of Student Affairs, Career Services, and University Advancement.

Tiffany Sanchez, vice president of student affairs; Susan Gordon, vice president of career services; and Christopher Vaughn, vice president of university advancement, joined the staff in January and February.

Sanchez will begin her work at Stevenson on Feb. 15. According to a Stevenson University press release, Sanchez completed her undergraduate studies at the University of New Mexico and received her Master’s degree in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University in Ohio.

Sanchez has over 20 years of experience in student affairs, with most of her professional career spent in Maryland. She acquired experience during her time as the Director of New Student Programs at American University, alongside her work as an Associate Dean of Student Experience at Johns Hopkins University. She most recently served as Interim Dean of Student Life at Johns Hopkins University.

Susan Gordon, the new vice president of career services, earned her Master of Science degree in Organization Development from American University, coupled with another Master of Science degree in Applied Behavioral Counseling from Johns Hopkins University.

Additionally, Gordon is active in many organizations connected to career development. According to a Stevenson University press release, Gordon is a Licensed Clinical and Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor.

Another native of Maryland, Christopher Vaughn, the new vice president of university advancement, joined Stevenson on Jan. 29. Vaughan earned both his bachelor’s degree and Master of Business Administration from Loyola University Maryalnd. He then served as the Director of Annual Giving, Director of Planned Giving, and Special Assistant to the Vice President for Development and College Relations at his alma mater.

Before coming to Stevenson University, Vaughn worked at Associated Catholic Charities, where he helped the charity increase planned gifts, donor retention, and new donor acquisition, according to a Stevenson University press release.

All the new vice presidents are excited about their opportunity to work at Stevenson University.

Sanchez said, “I have received an incredibly warm welcome from everyone I have met at Stevenson, ” and Gordon echoed those sentiments: “Everyone from Stevenson has been warm and open to sharing what they know. I already feel like I am a part of the Stevenson team.”

Vaughn added, “The Stevenson community feels like a family, and it is a privilege and pleasure to be here.”
