No. 8 Dickinson 1, Stevenson 1

The Stevenson men’s soccer team battled No. 8 Dickinson to a hard-fought 1-1 draw in Tuesday night’s non-conference matchup.

The Mustangs struck early, as senior Ellis Amo buried his fifth goal of the season in the 8th minute to give Stevenson the lead. That tally would stand as their only score, with the Mustangs managing just one additional shot in the first half while the Red Devils peppered the net with nine attempts in search of the equalizer.

Dickinson finally broke through in the 65th minute to even the contest, but Stevenson’s defense held firm the rest of the way. Goalkeeper Nolen Olson-Warwick anchored the back line with six saves, including several clutch stops in the final minutes, to preserve the result and deny Dickinson’s late surge.

Football

Stevenson 35, Alvernia 13

The Stevenson University football team powered past Alvernia, 35-13, on Saturday afternoon in Middle Atlantic Conference action, riding a dominant ground game and a stingy defense on the road.

The Mustangs (3-0, 2-0 MAC) racked up 237 rushing yards on 42 attempts, averaging nearly six yards per carry. Leading the charge was Louis Clouser, who turned in a career day with 129 yards on just 14 carries, including touchdown runs of 41 and six yards. He averaged an impressive 9.2 yards per attempt.

Quarterback Jordan Adams delivered a balanced performance, throwing for 181 yards and a 29-yard touchdown strike to Stephen Tatum, while also rushing for two scores in the first half. Adams finished 11-for-21 through the air, distributing the ball to standout receiver Dillon Johnson, who hauled in seven passes for a season-best 106 yards.

Defensively, Stevenson smothered Alvernia’s rushing attack, holding the Golden Wolves (0-3, 0-2 MAC) to just 90 yards on the ground. Linebacker Brandon Adler anchored the unit with nine tackles, including six solo stops, two sacks, and three tackles for loss. Terae Franklin forced two fumbles and added two tackles for loss, while Benjamin Cohen and Vincent Valerio each picked off passes to stall Alvernia drives.

The Mustangs built a commanding 21-0 halftime lead behind Clouser’s early 41-yard burst and a pair of short-yardage touchdowns from Adams. Adams extended the advantage with his strike to Tatum just 80 seconds into the second half, and Clouser’s six-yard score later in the third quarter put the game out of reach at 35-7.

Special teams also contributed, as Micah Veilleux went 5-for-5 on PATs and Sam McKinney averaged 41.8 yards on five punts.

The victory marked Stevenson’s first 3-0, 2-0 MAC start since 2022 and kept the Mustangs perfect all-time against Alvernia at 6-0. They’ll look to continue their unbeaten run next Saturday with a noon kickoff at FDU-Florham before heading into the conference-wide bye.
