It was a busy and successful weekend for Stevenson University athletics, highlighted by statement wins on the gridiron and in the pool, dramatic overtime and five-set battles and key regular-season finales as several Mustang programs gear up for postseason play.
Football: Mustangs Honor Military Appreciation Day with Statement Win
The Stevenson football team capped off its annual Military Appreciation Day in style, earning a 15–13 victory over Lebanon Valley at Mustang Stadium. The win pushed the Mustangs to 5–3 overall and 4–3 in MAC play as they continued their second-half surge.
After a defensive first quarter, fourth-year quarterback Jordan Adams led a methodical 13-play, 79-yard drive capped by an eight-yard touchdown pass to freshman Noah Robinson—his first collegiate score. Lebanon Valley answered on the next possession, but first-year kicker Micah Veilleux gave Stevenson a 9–7 edge with a 33-yard field goal in the third.
Quarterback Todd Lattimore extended the lead early in the fourth, finding Dillon Johnson for a 34-yard touchdown to make it 15–7. The Flying Dutchmen threatened late but missed a potential game-winning 29-yard field goal as time expired.
Running back Louis Clouser paced the Mustangs with 145 rushing yards on 29 carries, anchoring an offense that totaled 358 yards. Stevenson’s defense, led by Ethan Marshall (nine tackles) and Terae Franklin (sack, multiple tackles for loss), shut down Lebanon Valley down the stretch to secure the win.
Men’s Ice Hockey: Benson’s Heroics Highlight Opening Weekend
The Stevenson men’s ice hockey team opened its season with a split weekend, highlighted by Blake Benson’s breakout performance.
On Friday night, the Mustangs (1–0) edged SUNY Brockport, 2–1, behind Benson’s two power-play goals—assisted by John Musella, Jack Karlsson, and Greg Spitznagel. Goaltender Ford DeLoss made 24 saves to seal the win.
The next night, Stevenson (1–1) fell to Nazareth, 4–2, despite another strong effort. Matt Yeager opened the scoring early with help from Karlsson and Aiden Lindley, while Benson added a power-play tally in the second period. DeLoss finished with 22 saves as the Mustangs narrowly outshot Nazareth, 27–26, and won 40 of 66 faceoffs.
Women’s Ice Hockey: DeMan Scores in Season Debut
The Stevenson women’s ice hockey team (0–2) opened its season with a two-game series against SUNY Canton.
In Friday’s 3–1 loss, Emma DeMan scored the Mustangs’ first goal of the year off an assist from Abby Smith, while goaltender Maggie Sehnert recorded 38 saves in her season debut.
DeMan struck again in Saturday’s 5–1 loss, this time on the power play with assists from Kylie Chandler and Meghan Croyle. Stevenson held a 30–27 edge in faceoffs, led by DeMan’s 16-for-23 performance, and Sehnert added another 33 saves between the pipes.
Men’s Soccer: Mustangs Secure No. 2 Seed with Strong Finish
The Stevenson men’s soccer team (10–6–2, 4–2–1 MACC) closed the regular season with an impressive week that secured the No. 2 seed in the MAC Commonwealth Tournament.
On Tuesday, the Mustangs earned a 2–1 win over Hood. Patrick Caulden opened the scoring in the 7th minute from a Daniel Baena assist, and Gianfranco Vitella doubled the lead in the 52nd. Stevenson outshot the Blazers 16–5, with goalkeeper Nolen Olson-Warwick collecting the win.
In Saturday’s finale, Stevenson showed grit in a 3–1 road loss to York (Pa.). Ellis Amo scored his ninth goal of the season in the 52nd minute, and Olson-Warwick made four saves. Despite the loss, Stevenson clinched the No. 2 seed in the MAC Commonwealth Tournament and will host the No. 4 seed on November 5.
Women’s Soccer: Mustangs Clinch Playoff Spot with Strong Defensive Form
The Stevenson women’s soccer team (8–5–5, 4–3 MACC) wrapped up the regular season with a win and a narrow loss, earning the No. 3 seed in the MAC Commonwealth Tournament.
On Wednesday, the Mustangs topped Hood 1–0 behind Colleen Fanning’s 15th-minute goal off a Kamille Purcell assist. Isabella Serano earned the shutout with two saves as Stevenson controlled play throughout.
In Saturday’s finale at York, Stevenson fell 1–0 despite a standout 15-save performance from Serano, who kept the Mustangs in contention until the final whistle. Isabella Pecunes led the offense with three shots, while defenders Katelyn Lacey and Laurel Hutchins anchored the back line. The Mustangs will face York again in the MAC Commonwealth Semifinal on November 4.
Field Hockey: Catalano, Seniors Shine in Back-to-Back Wins
The No. 17 Stevenson field hockey team (17–2, 6–1 MACC) capped its regular season with a thrilling overtime win and a dominant Senior Day victory.
On Wednesday, Gracyn Catalano scored both goals—including the overtime winner—in a 2–1 win over Hood. Stevenson dominated offensively, outshooting the Blazers 25–9.

Saturday’s Senior Day saw the Mustangs blank Albright 6–0 in a commanding performance. Senior Shae Bennett opened the scoring just three minutes in, while Abry Klinger netted two goals in the first quarter. Seniors Coco Wallace and Lauren Tobin added assists, with Wallace later scoring herself. Kailen Hibshman and Taylor Valoczki added second-half goals as Jordan Vradenburgh and Ollie Winterle combined for a shutout.
Stevenson held Albright without a shot on goal and finished with 22 shots of its own. The Mustangs enter the MAC Commonwealth Tournament as the No. 2 seed and will host Hood on November 5 at 5 p.m.
Men’s & Women’s Swimming: Top Finishes Highlight St. Mary’s Quad
Stevenson swimming turned in several standout performances at the St. Mary’s (Md.) quad meet, with both teams combining for strong individual results.
For the men, Zachary Clark led the way with a third-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly (55.64) and added two fifth-place results in the 100-yard backstroke and 200-yard medley relay alongside William Lebron, Brandon Cogdill, and Justin Watts. Brendan Lach placed fourth in the 500-yard freestyle, while Cogdill earned another fourth in the 200-yard IM. Clark, Zachory Hogg, Jack Mark, and Watts rounded out the meet with a fifth-place relay finish (1:37.75).
On the women’s side, Laila Umrani-Sanders and Olivia Jansen earned top finishes to lead the Mustangs, who collected nine total top-three placements. Umrani-Sanders won the 200-yard freestyle (2:07.77) and added third-place finishes in the 100-yard freestyle and 200-yard freestyle relay with Claire Price, Jorden Sowards-Barnett, and Denise Martinez. Jansen claimed first in the 50-yard breaststroke (34.40) and second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:15.49). Additional runner-up performances came from Alexa Darak, Charlotte Forte, and Martinez in their respective events.
Women’s Volleyball: Mustangs Battle Through Back-to-Back Tests
The Stevenson women’s volleyball team showed tremendous resolve this week, battling through two grueling matches that showcased their depth and determination.
On Tuesday’s Green Out Night, the Mustangs pushed Eastern in four competitive sets before falling 3–1 (25–23, 19–25, 24–26, 21–25). Rachel Lenz and Sydney Salazar led the offense, while Courtney Foose and Declyn Tooze shared setting duties. Stevenson totaled six service aces and six blocks in the hard-fought contest.
The Mustangs returned Saturday for an epic five-set duel with Lebanon Valley, narrowly falling 3–2 (28–30, 22–25, 25–22, 25–16, 9–15). Lenz turned in a monster performance with 19 kills, six blocks, and five aces, while Giulia Viglietta added 18 kills and 17 digs. Lillianna Hornickle contributed seven kills and two blocks as Foose and Tooze combined for 37 assists in a valiant team effort.
Looking Ahead
With postseason play now underway for several programs, Stevenson teams will look to carry their late-season momentum into championship competition. Field hockey and both soccer squads begin their MAC Commonwealth Tournament runs this week, while football, volleyball, and ice hockey continue key stretches of their schedules.
