Before students begin finals in December, Mustang Activities and Programming (MAP) will host two exciting events: the third annual Frost Fest and a trip to New York City.

MAP has hosted a variety of trips this semester which include traveling to Field of Screams, a mini-golf trip, a go-kart experience, a carnival, a commuter sleepover and more. According to Jenna Womack, associate director of Student Activities, MAP typically hosts at least one event a week and seeks to provide a little bit of everything for students.

MAP will host Frost Fest, a winter-themed event to be held on Dec. 5 from 9:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. in the Rockland banquet room. At Frost Fest, students can engage in different activities including wood slice painting, an ugly sweater competition and holiday cookie jars. With these jars, students can layer ingredients for a dessert in a cookie jar and give it as a gift to their loved ones.

Frost Fest will feature Jeff LeBlanc, an independent American singer and songwriter, and the event will include t-shirt giveaways for students. Cassie Myers, MAP program director, added that Frost Fest is the place to come where the holiday atmosphere is exciting.

Womack said that they noticed a similar event in the past had primarily been attended by women. “So we came up with ideas to diversify the event and turn it into something bigger for everyone,” she said, adding that it is one of the last big events of the semester and MAP gets to “end on an exciting note.”

MAP’s last event of the year will be a trip to New York City on Dec. 7. Students will leave campus at 8 a.m., get dropped off at Time Square when they arrive, and depart the city at 8 p.m. Womack said, “It is going to be a great college memory for students.”

Myers added that the purpose of MAP is to provide entertaining experiences and memorable moments for students. Students can visit mapatsu.com to learn more about what the organization has going on and can reach Student Activities at 443-352-4300.
