Let’s take a step into this season’s new trends and colors. The trending colors leading this season are lapis blue, greenery, primrose yellow, hazelnut, pale dogwood and flame. Once upon a time, colors used to be gender and seasonally restricted; this is no longer the case.

PRIMROSE YELLOW

According to Fashionisers, primrose was one of the prime colors on the runway during New York fashion week. This color is said to be for the warm and cold seasons, the one color that is supposed to bring you delight and fun.

NIAGARA

Niagara is a soft blue hue that looks like denim. Thankfully, because of this,  it can be matched in similar ways. Carolina Herrera, a well-known fashion designer, designed a ball gown in this color.

LAPIS BLUE

Lapis blue is a royal blue like the ocean, but lighter. This color slims like black, yet still gives wearers radiance and energy.

FLAME

Depending on the site, this color could be a dim red or a burnt orange. For some designers, it’s both. This color is said to present the “wow factor” and offer drama to the person wearing it.

WHAT’S NEW?

One of the latest trends is graphic shirts that make a statement. During the London Fashion Week, Maria Grazia Chiuri decided to make her runway statement with a T-shirt reading “We Should All Be Feminists.” This chic activist’s wear is sure to be seen throughout the 2017 year. In addition to the statement shirt, there’s a new project coming this March that’s bound to leave its mark. The Pussyhat Project is a movement aimed to provide supporters of the Women’s March in D.C. with visual collectivism. This project includes a pink hat that has pointed tips to represent cat ears.

In other fashion news, there’s a battle between purses and cases, and the winner will take the spotlight. According to Allure, Louis Vuitton has the new mini “It” bag in the form of a phone case shaped like the Louis’ Vuitton Petite Malle bag. On the other hand, Gucci is adding to the fight with the build-a-bag, with hooks on the top of the bag and clips on the bottom which allows them to latch onto more purses. This kind of fashion-forward thinking makes you wonder what will happen to the future of fashion.
