This event honored the outstanding student employees, graduate employees, and employee supervisors, who have been an asset on campus during the 2016-2017 year. Each student and supervisor were nominated by either their supervisor or supervisee.

Morgan Somerville, director of student engagement, was in charge of planning and hosting the event. She was pleased with the outcome of the event, and congratulated all those who were nominated and selected as winners.

The student nominees and winners were announced one at a time, with their letter of nomination read aloud. They then were presented with a plaque by Stevenson Interim President Claire Moore, recognizing their nomination or winning title.

Student Employee of the Year nominees included the following:

Heather Lopiano was selected as the 2016-2017 Student Employee of the Year for her dedication to the athletics department. She said she was honored to receive this award, sending a “special thanks to the football coaches and the players for always appreciating and noticing all the hard work I have done for the program over the last four years. “

After the student employee section was complete, Somerville moved on to announce and congratulate the graduate employees.

Graduate Student Employee of the Year nominees included the following:

Sergut Admasu, Michael MacFee, Malik Nannaa, and Ali Nesselt.

Malik Nannaa, from the Office of Service Learning and Center for Student Success, was selected as the 2016-2017 Graduate Student Employee of the Year. He was nominated by his supervisor, Dr. Christine Moran, who was also selected as Supervisor of the Year.

The banquet was a time of laughs, tears, and congratulations as the students and supervisors showed appreciation toward one another and celebrated their successes.
